The Tempe Accountability Project (TAP)

The Tempe Accountability Project aims to foster transparency within the city of Tempe by shedding light on various issues, dilemmas, areas for improvement, leadership failures, and inequities in city management. Our goal is to provide the public, city employees, and Tempe citizens with an open platform to learn, engage in civil discussions, and gain insights into the operations of city hall.

Through this website, we endeavor to keep Tempe's government transparent, effective, and ideally, characterized by integrity. Our intent is to offer a candid perspective on the leadership of the mayor, city manager, city council and police chief, even if the revelations may be uncomfortable. It's important to note that the city manager serves at the pleasure of the mayor and city council, while the police chief serves under the city manager.

By encouraging active participation and holding individuals accountable, we aspire to empower both the governed and the managed to have a real influence on the direction and conduct of city leadership. We invite you to explore, engage, and join us in our mission to promote accountability and transparency in Tempe's governance.
